Our Faith & Film night is a gathering to screen and ponder Christian themes in contemporary cinema. The festival serves as an opportunity for participants to explore Christian themes in movies and develop eyes to see film in new ways. During the evening, we will watch films together and then engage in discussions about the ways in which the themes of redemption, reconciliation, mercy, grace and more are embedded in film.
Some of the films we may pick from include: Shawshank Redemption (1994), Les Miserables (2012), The Mission (1986), Up (2019), Silence (2016), Of Gods and Men (2010), Babette's Feast (1987), The Hidden Life (2019), Twelve Angry Men (1957), Hotel Rwanda (2004).
Given the nature of the films, this will be an adult and possibly teen as you feel comfortable only event.
Dinner will be served at 5:30pm, movie starts at 6:15pm, and discussion to follow. If for whatever reason you are not able to attend the whole time, you are welcome to watch the film earlier in the week and then just come for the discussion.
